142 GB successfully copied from the file server. But I had to add the “~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media” folder to my Time Machine exclusion list because that’s going to take much too long to back up to the little USB-C hard drive that I’m using for backups.

Can anyone walk me through the process, as though I am a tiny baby, of transferring my library AND iTunes app from my old hard drive to my new laptop? Do I absolutely have to download it again on the laptop? I think that might be where the problem is

@halalltakeaway This might be of no help, but you can change other files types to mp3s in iTunes. I’m terrible at tech stuff but thought I’d say in case it was helpful!

After listening to @gruber talk about AppleTv as a service on Dithering I wonder if anyone else has found iTunes content that only plays on ‘real’ Apple hardware? I’ve found one in my library so far.

@ReallyWanamaker I would hope we get another ATV soon but in the meantime, a 4K Fire TV stick is about $30 and supports TV+, past iTunes purchases, and essentially every single streaming service.

I believe Apple wrote some sort of Mac API emulator for Windows in order to do the Windows version of iTunes. Hmm, I wonder what these “.itc” and “.itc2” files are that it’s trying to import. Maybe one of them caused a problem.

@ToasterKlay Cause I actually liked that song and my friend pointed out it got taken off iTunes and YT Music. So I wanted to see if Spotify did the same. If you listen to it, you’ll hear pretty much nothing wrong. I’m sure more of his ****’ll get taken down now too.

@brilliantbardi it’s def bots. different unknown and unsigned country artists have been using them to get recognized by labels and to get signed... it’s weird and idk why itunes isn’t cracking down on it.
