@army1325air So, make us kinda like a lite version of the Turians, I got it. I don't disagree, in fact I'm with you. I'm just worried about degrading the value of everyone's service. @grok mind explaining who and what I'm referring to when I mentioned the Turians from Mass Effect?

@SandyofCthulhu Same goes for beta testers, back in the 90's we didn't beta test to get early access, we actually tested the systems and wrote detailed error reports with steps taken to repeat said issue, I will never forgive EA for what it did to Mass Effect.

Romances in Baldur's Gate 3 aren't fundamentally different than Mass Effect from nearly 2 decades ago. BG3 is just a longer game. Still has the same annoying problem of either making a character dislike you or wanting to bang with no inbetween.

@FionaCher12 My issue is that the devs in Bioware expressed clear interest in trying out a remaster for it, and EA told them no. The guys at Mass Effect in fact were the ones to pitch it bc EA had a clear favouritism problem and they were aware of it.

This and Mass effect suffer from the same problem, I think Amazon is turning into Netflix with their new stupid vision (modernized adaptations). The biggest problem is that Amazon has rights to half of the video games currently around and with their vision, I think they will be all doomed 💀

  • Mackedo5

@takasiraVT I think the issue is Nintendo. They won't take chances anymore. Imagine a Star Fox that was like Mass Effect: third person shooter, with swappable crew, OPEN space combat, an RPG system, currency. But no. We'll get another rail shooter, and just be happy we got anything

@nuhre_ every mass effect game is a buggy mess until they fix it and the trilogy still has bugs from years ago...and what makes the story boring? How are the characters terrible?

@WritersBog @Authw8 People like you must have never used weapon upgrades in Mass Effect 1 or the skills that turns off overheating for like 45 seconds. Skill issue.

@WeAreMassEffect Excellent science-fantasy but not excellent sci-fi. Anything other than Destroy is the Reapers throwing **** at the wall in a last-ditch effort and actually succeeding in deceiving Shephard. Everything 'wrong' with the story of ME3 actually started with ME2 when Bioware catered to Fox in cutting down the ****** alongside killing off and resurrecting Shepherd in the first 5 minutes of the game (!!!). Story of ME2 was ***. The Collectors should have been an arc or plotline but not the entirety of the game. You can 100% have the Systems Alliance send Shepherd out to find more data on the Reapers, who then ends up fighting Batarians, criminals, xenophobes, the Terminus Systems, AND the Collectors. Andromeda actually had insane potential but Bioware ****** up by not hiring me as their lead writer and producer. Fighting the not-Collectors with an Asari archaeologist and Krogan mercenary while trying to save Humanity & Co. is not good enough of a plotline. Cerberus should've sacked the Elusive Man the moment he was indoctrinated. ridiculous. ME4 needs to take place after a Destroy ending where: 1. with the destruction of the Relays, long-distance, immediate FTL travel is impossible. 2. with the general destruction that the Reapers caused-- 99% of all life in the galaxy, essentially, and their corresponding civilizations and industrial base-- ME4 needs to either take place 100-200 years after the events of ME3 or be a survival-horror 'RPG' 3. If ME4 takes place a ~hundred years after the events of ME3, then having the option of being Liara's offspring (and explicitly confirmed if you romanced Liara). if not, then all other species ought to be available 4. the vast majority of Turians and Quarians stuck in the Sol System after the destroy ending would end up starving to death because 5σ of the galaxy's industry and population has been destroyed and they cannot eat 'normal' foodstuffs 4a. the vast majority of Turians and Quarians in any fleet that is not predominantly of their own species ought to starve to death due to the lacking of their specific foodstuffs 4b. the vast majority of the survivors of the Reapers (<1% of galpop) ought to starve, dehydrate, or otherwise die to raiders or other starving, sick people. simply not enough resources to go around in the post-apocalypse 5. if you chose to fix the Genophage, the Krogans have to be THE singular dominant power in what was Citadel space. if not, there should only be one or two total in the entirety of the game as their species goes extinct 5a if the Krogan are led by Wrex, then the Krogan in general would be part of the Citadel's Council alongside Humanity 5b if the Krogan are led by Wreav, then the Krogan in general would not be part of the Citadel, drastically weakening it for the plot of the game alongside granting a quest where you have to 'recruit' the Krogan or at least get them to sign a pact of non-aggression/interference 6. the Egalitarian, Xenophilic polity that would eventually emerge at Sol would become the capital of the New Citadel-- mostly because they have the highest population and the most salvage in their system 7. the enemy for the first non-survival of the post-apocalyptic horror entry in Mass Effect ought to be a resurgent Terminus Systems. they have no ******* idea where the Reapers came from or how to beat them-- only learning that they're tied to Citadel space.

@WeAreMassEffect Mass Effect Andromeda is a great game and was overshadowed by the launch bugs that were fixed as fast as we could notice. Same reason why Watch Dogs Legion was a fast hype and failure. It was a GREAT game, but worse than MEA, they didn't fix anything and left a lot of bugs...

I’m enjoying the game so far but if I were to guess some of the problems people have with mass effect 3 it’s probably that it seems more linear? Like there’s a lot more cover shooter stuff and a bit less rpg stuff not an insane amount I think but it is there

@LordCharizard33 There have been failures similar to this. It is the gaming industry after all. EA/Bioware has had stinkers in the past that failed immediately like Mass Effect: Andromeda and Anthem though those were not live service like this.

  • spiral_archtct
    spiralarchitect (@spiral_archtct) reported

@Pirat_Nation The biggest problem was the terrible writing, not the technical issues. Mass Effect games live and die on their writing quality and Andromeda was a huge fail in this respect.

@kalaelizabeth They are abandoning it, it’s not horrible, but it is a bad Mass Effect game. Weak writing and semi weak characters. Calling the fans the problem and the reason the game you starred in bombed is not how you endear them to future ventures.

@ItsKiraWorld @RescuerPrincess Let's be real, they did screw up her face a bit, but not everyone can be Keanu Reaves in Cyberpunk 2077. The issue with her character model is, and I don't know how to put it gently... it looks like it's rendered in Mass Effect Andromeda and her face is tired.
