    @The_Boricua_AMC I don’t think i can fully attribute this as the reason. The GA wasn’t as wired into that as you think. Plus, 3 of those films were sequels to films that were liked* before. 3 of those got bad reviews (Shazam, Aquaman, Joker 1 was mixed, and had controversy (Flash) 1 was reviewed well but made no money (Blue Beetle) So 4 of those projects weren’t even considered good. The public still pays attention to reviews. They added to the “mediocre film issue”

    @GenFitzhughLee @thepersona98 @BlackMajikMan90 No, he was supposed to do a Shazam movie and vigorously turned it down because he thought he was too big by the time Shazam got green lit in 2014. Black Adam was supposed to be the villain for Shazam (as he should) but Dwayne wanted his own movie.

    @ghtljs @EricFarenheit When the options are "Captain Marvel" (fine but too associated with Marvel comics), "Shazam" (good for branding but terrible as an in-universe name), and "The Captain" (What was Waid thinking. What was the plan here.) then yeah, Captain Thunder seems like the obvious best one.

    @ChrisLuvuno The whole TikTok promo style was terrible from the word go. Imagine if all the songs promoted in clips were already out. Shazam wasnt manipulated enough.
