To be fair, these delays are a great thing! Previously we had a pretty dull 2023 slate and now it's stacked. Black Adam needs to add stuff with reshoots (no the movie is not in trouble it's doing well with tests) and Shazam 2 is mostly ready.

@ChickenKrispy @LostBoy419 to be fair, the source material favours a more grim tone with the DC heroes. the main problem with DC films is they still don’t know what the want to be. A universe where Shazam! And BVS both exist just confuses the audience with what they even want in the first place

@getFANDOM didn't like shazam 1. wasn't terrible, just meh and forgettable and not great. Avatar is a CGI benchmark to this day and a movie I watched a lot.

@CrusadeNerd @DiscussingFilm Domino effect. Black Adam, Aquaman, and Flash still have reshoots and VFX to finish up, and Covid protocols are slowing down productions. Plus, Shazam is further along in post due to shooting earlier because of the age of the kids

But in all seriousness, this is a coin flip. Lots of hype for Shazam in audience retention & good will, though it has some minor issues in BTS things with how much ego will want credits to be prominent that need to be background. And Avatar 2 can be a massive hit, or a bomb.

@DCVerso3 @DCEUMX And when Shazam meet with Avatar 2, the biggest issue for audiences is that the cinema may put fuller schedule for Avatar 2 on better screens such as IMAX or Dolby Cinema, and the BOM won’t be so good statically. WB always brings us shocking news other than better films. So pity.

@ASky1284 it's main issue is length, but it doesn't feel like 3hrs for the most part. Otherwise, minor gripes. Shazam had the greatest DCU villain outside of Shannon and Dano's Riddler lmao

@posikolajo Dude there’s literally a super hero movie coming out the same day, the kids are going to see Shazam, it will do great I’m not saying that but that 2.8 billion smack down the original did is not what this one will do, at least in my opinion.
