    @The_Propapanda @signalapp I'm sure that if you can provide an exhaustive list of all names that might be used in phishing campaigns, signal can block them... That is a weak spot, but it's hard to fix.

    OMFG - these arm chair security people calling this recent issue where iOS notifications where preview messages were held - calling it a @signalapp issue are just making me nuts. It’s an #OpSec issue / if you’re concerned - security is not one app it’s an entire process.

    @evowizz @signalapp I think a majority of the issue with building a fully custom client is integration/feature parity with the official app(s). I do believe you could fork Signal and make some major improvements though, and just maintain it as a fork.

    @signalapp European union attempts to take down Signal because they can not control it. So they try to make a picture that the app is not safe.

    @simulx4 @signalapp I'm working on it! It's a hard problem to solve, and even with my current solution there is some metadata leakage. Some of the metadata can be obfuscated for protocols that aren't many-to-many in large numbers.

    @signalapp's Contact Discovery Service (CDSI) lets you securely discover which of your contacts are on Signal. It's on by default, and the app sends your full contacts list every 48h. Queries run inside an SGX enclave, so even Signal's servers can't see them. SGX encrypts the enclave's memory, so the host can't read the queries directly, and uses ORAM to hide the access pattern.

    Signal is wild. I send a message and it arrives to the other person whenever Signal feels like it. Real-time messaging? More like 'eventually messaging.' WhatsApp with all its problems at least delivers in the present tense. @signalapp fix it

    @signalapp If used fraudulently this software could be used to scan bank accounts and other financial and data critical ones like passwords. This is not the way to control the problem and should be controlled through the data centres etc.

    @theweb3jess @signalapp @depressivehacks for instance someone could mail you pics you don't want, also anonymously. but i don't call for the post office to censor everyone's mail. you can choose not to open the mail from unsolicited senders. or pay a service to filter your mail and not forward ones screened for ******

    @signalapp I know it's not a thing, because you seem like normal people with morals. But it would be terrible if you happened to have a data breach that showed all the private chats our government is having.
