@signalapp @JamesBrandreth One issue I face on ubuntu 18.04 is syncing. It takes a lot of time to sync 500+ messages.

@signalapp has officially stopped being usable on desktop. With about 5s delay between switching from chat to chat it's downright unusable for anything productive. To all who suffer from same issue, I suggest taking a look at scrcpy in combination with adb and developer tools.

@AlexUnnervik @Its_Randeep21 @signalapp It can't be verified entirely, but to an extent it can be since the build will be reproducible, and there will be inconsistencies. Thought the real problem here is that they aren't even answering the question as to why they changed their stance on making it public.

@signalapp Starting signal, the lock of signal(using my fingerprint registered by my smartphone) sometimes precedes my smartphone's lock. Hence, sometimes I can't operate my smartphone. Which causes this trouble, signal app or my smartphone...?

@signalapp, Sending messages is slow using mobile but fast using Desktop App in Windows 10. I think there needs to be some optimization done for msgs to send. (Note: I have good Internet speed with low latency - So not Internet issue).

@AlexUnnervik @Its_Randeep21 @signalapp Yes it is, but it also means a publicly available code is open for scrutiny, improvements and patches. They have taken a stand on why they can't make the service self-hosted. In similar fashion they need to own this, instead of ignoring all questions.

@moliellama @signalapp @wevrare If someone already has your number, you might have worse privacy problems. Plus the more people that use signal, the less it matters that your contact can see you use Signal.

@buchwasa @NadeshikoKagami @signalapp That something has been sent *and* who’s sent it to whom, also there is the issue of metadata but I don’t have enough knowledge on that subject. My point is you can’t put all your trust (or your info) in a single app.

@danbri @signalapp I got a new phone with a new number recently, did an iOS transfer from the old phone, and Signal worked fine keeping my contacts and history. It's still registered under my old phone number but I'm planning to keep it (via Twilio) so hopefully that won't be a problem...
