@boludmaestro I think it's a lot of things. For one Skype has had many issues around performance. Not to mention the many wrong moves by Microsoft to try and market it as an Enterprise product. Enterprise products don't do well with everyday consumers.

@ClareWheatGoo @carbischoral @DeliaTurnbull I had concerns about that initially but I believe those issues have been swiftly resolved... I’m not using it for piano teaching, am firmly sticking to familiar platforms such as Skype/FaceTime for that purpose.

For context I was in the UK and the global financial crisis was just kicking off. Guess I was 25 then. The folks at the US forestry service I spoke to were so nice and keen, and had never done a Skype interview before! They wanted me for over a year and I just wasn't ready then.
