The only solution that is all encompassing to fix the smite top problem is that there isnt one, you can revert tp and that won't change a damn thing, you could remove objective bounties but that's only part of the problem, restricting who can take smite limits expression

@IWDominateLoL honestly the best way to fix smite top lane is to make it so jungler can only take smite and make an option for junglers to click on another player in champ select to "swap role" and give them the ability to pick smite and they lose theirs. easy fix yet wont happen. nerf jg :)

@BobbyWhyteD4C @LSXYZ9 Ye thats right .i get it now ... But i thought they already dealt with that issue on some patch .. Cuz kayn players used to take support item after smite. so, they nerfed it somehow. I dont remember tho.

You can't compare it to lane swap or double jungle metas because it was a strategy that required up to 4 players to opt in to it. The smite top is just one person forcing 9 other players to the play the game differently. It's toxic.

I aint gonna lie, I havent personally experienced that Janna top lane smite meta pick or whatever. but like, why try and fix it? The whole point of a moba is to find the best strat and if that strat that is brand new, happens to win, well, it's maybe not busted.

@SplooshLoL @RiotPhroxzon @Rime101 something new to do with the map again isn't inherently bad. If people are totally unable to respond to it that's a problem (sure, the Janna should have to give up lane gold to toot off to smite things) but just remixing the role meta isn't inherently bad.

@riotgames Fix the Janna smite top ****, it does not work 90% of games its played, it's ruining low elo games. It's absurdly stupid that you havent done something to fix this. I'm tired of having free games or instant losses because of this.

Beginner Chess tip: Remember if the Queen he values isn't going anywhere you don't have to take it right away survey the board ask yourself where else can I smite him and cause lots of problems in the mean time? I make sure I haven't overlooked danger to me once I move.

@Dawning_of_Dusk Idk Quinn literally farms normally till 6, backs buys supp item and never goes back top now Twitch buys supp item and sits mid/bot 24/7 and they both aren't taking smite, yeah you fix janna but people are already finding other strats

This top lane stuff ends three ways: - They nerf Janna into the ground as a band aid fix - They rework or remove bounties - They give in and implement a one smite/one support item rule and pray people don't troll with jt

@RiotSupport are you going to fix the top support with smite soon? just had a game where we were down 3 drags and 20 kills and still didnt have obj bounties :/ just make it so that you can only have 1 supp item per team or if you have smite you cant have supp item

@MedicCasts Now that it’s appeared in competitive, I think the coding hotfix of not allowing one to take smite and a support starting item will come through sooner than later. Only way I see to fix this without reverting TP changes aka making it so there was no preseason essentially

@SHASAKOLAR @Alphamy_MK @endercasts The issue is there was already this meta like a year or 2 back with the spell thief edge, where you go supp top either Janna, Sona, Zil, and just perma roam with jungle. This time instead of item you go smite + ultimate spell book(?) and pretty much same meta again.
