    @TechAltar @YouNex_L Judging from Durov’s rhetoric it’s very plausible that he will ensure sustainability and then turn Telegram into some form of non-profit or, somehow, a distributed service. The failure of TON was a setback on that path.

Nah, again, same problem, too long. Where oh where could this same text appear on the internet in an easily printable format??

    UPDATE: WhatsApp postponed a data-sharing change as users concerned about privacy fled the Facebook-owned messaging service and flocked to rivals Telegram and Signal

    @svaroschi Yeah, that. And people either don't want to research the answer or are not tech-savvy enough to tell the differences between end-to-end encryption and in transit encryption. News org still calling Telegram an "encrypted app" also doesn't help.

    @Sustain_Joy When MAGAverse/militia groups lost Parler, & GAB was unfunctional, a huge number recently moved to Telegram & also Signal, for encrypted group conversations (& because WhatsApp is now Facebook-owned). Signal may be experiencing problems because of the sudden influx of users.

    WhatsApp will no longer require users to accept updated terms of service by 8th of February. Too late. Trust has been shaken and so many people have moved to Signal and Telegram despite attacks on their platforms that froze and slows them a little.
