@Onepeg @TwitchSupport @PartyChipLIVE Good luck, my backup account got banned for generating too much ad revenue in 1 month so it got flagged for fraud in their broken fraud detection algorithm. So my main partnered channel got banned for evasion. 4 years later I’m still suspended

@TwitchSupport having trouble submitting issues through live chat and email support! form is complete but being flagged as not.

@TwitchSupport Unfortunately all I see is a system ripe for abuse. We've already seen someone get bots sent to their channel to get them in trouble on purpose. It could be circumvented by having actual people talk to the streamer, but I have little/no faith in that happening.

@TwitchSupport This is immediately going to get exploited by people trying to harm creators/streamers and is a terrible idea

Hey @TwitchSupport. My friend @PartyChipLIVE got banned on twitch for pretending to dox his best friend in his friend’s twitch chat by typing in a fake address and phone number, got reported, and twitch permabanned him for it. I’m trying to help a friend. It’s been months and he’s gotten no response. Can you please assist?

@Joysulem @TwitchSupport Doesn't work because you can buy phone numbers from VoIP services. The only reliable way to prevent viewbotting is to make the entire site require the authenticator even to register as a viewer.

@TwitchSupport You've crucified this platform because you failed to keep the TOS and hold everyone accountable. Why ******** should anyone believe anything a clown such as yourself has to say? Even with a 50/50 cut you still aren't profitable. Maybe if you did hold your top streamers that has brought controversy to your site. You're worried about viewbotting now because you know your *** is on the chopping block and you expect some form of grace to save you from your bullshit. There are more than enough times you and your retarded moderation team had to fix this and make twitch better than ever. But you chose to have a brown nose instead. Have fun with that. **** you, Clancy.

@TermitesRGood @TwitchSupport The issue with doing that is now anyone can use viewbotting to attack a streamer they do not like. You accidentally piss off a random viewer and then they viewbot your stream to hell and cost you ALL the income.

    Parental Advisory (@Parental_OnX) reported

@TwitchSupport Honestly, as someone who administrated and ran IRC server's for MANY years decades ago now, I find it EXTREMELY hard to believe Twitch has ever taken combatting viewbotting seriously. I KNOW fully what types of tracking and tools can be used and what information is exposed via IRC (the thing your ENTIRE chat system is based and runs within) And while some advanced botnets and systems DO exist to circumvent things legitimately, much of the actual view botting which occurs does NOT rely whatsoever on those types of systems either. It comes from imbedding and bot farms. If you TRULY want to put a stop to it, post very open public receipts EVERY time you have proof of ANY streamer doing it. STOP counting non logged in views for ANYTHING Add in PROPER human verification layers (not bloody well digital ID either) similar to X anytime inauthentic behavior is detected. And make it more and more hard for the bot providers to actually do what they do. And for god sakes, STOP basing exposure, growth, and reward on VIEW COUNTS. Take away the REASON for viewbotting and the problem disappears REAL fast.

@TwitchSupport I think other than that, you should rework the lurk system. It's really difficult for a small streamer to grow if lurkers are counted as bots, it doesn't help.

  • CazSpella
    Caz ⛓️❤️‍🔥 (@CazSpella) reported

@TwitchSupport So what you are saying: People that not only hit partner through clear viewbotting but also have been actively promoted on your frontpage whilst doing so will not suffer retroactive consequences. Victims of botting-attacks will be punished instead of releasing a lasting fix

  • josepur

@TwitchSupport The fix is simple. Use engagement as the weight for discovery, not view count.
