jackbox brings out the worst in twitch streamers

  • GenkoMoriya Sceptember Again (@GenkoMoriya) reported

@SilvolfStudios You can thank Twitch ""culture"" for it. The worst is when you hear people IRL start saying it. My head sinks into my chest.

  • Ingavar_Khaos 💉 Bone Toucher 💉 (@Ingavar_Khaos) reported

@RekItRaven Speaking of things that don't work... the other day When my doordash driver text me letting me know my food was outside, he plugged not only his twitch, but his YouTube and SoundCloud... I'm like yeah, no thanks

  • MGooseyy MsGooseyy (@MGooseyy) reported

  • melkandor CaptainMelk (@melkandor) reported

@Kintinue To be honest. Twitch has been kinda falling apart for a while now, both in terms of communication and taking actions to fix their community.

  • mapleandpotato maplepotato (@mapleandpotato) reported

Focusing on bad actors and personal actions is often used to distract from systemic issues. Punishing the people responsible for hate raids is less useful than security measures designed to prevent them in the first place. Or addressing the toxic cultures cultivated on Twitch.

  • Kathryn__Lynn Kathryn (@Kathryn__Lynn) reported

    @RocketSparkley That's super frustrating D: idk what's going on or what to do to fix it. I try to encourage everyone to keep an eye on twitter (also unreliable) and discord (not everyone has discord though), but really it should just be a function in twitch like it was ;_;

  • Dragon1291 Patrick Alan (@Dragon1291) reported

@third_artifact A big reason why twitch prob has to say somewhat quiet on the issue. If you reveal things too early before finding them it gives them more time to evade and hide.

  • manthello Manthello (@manthello) reported

Tonight I'm gonna pour a cold one for all of the content creators who quit twitch because twitch didn't protect them from hate raids for the last 4 years. This is not a new problem. I'm glad attention is finally being paid to it.

  • mapleandpotato maplepotato (@mapleandpotato) reported

The lawsuit is great news but I hope the catharsis of justice being done doesn't cause people to absolve Twitch of responsibility for the serious issues on their platform.

  • jellyqueenn jelly (@jellyqueenn) reported

Hi. I don’t want to post about this because it’s ******* annoying. But myself and my friends have been being stalked and harassed by someone we’ve banned from many discord servers and twitch chats and she is stalking us on 10 different accounts (continued)

  • mrNY2cali MrNY2Cali on #Twitch Stephen Gonzalez (@mrNY2cali) reported

@ButterflyHearts @RekItRaven any damages would go to Twitch and they would use to pay for the extra engineering time, development, PR time that was needed to combat the problem in the first place. A settlement to any broadcaster would be like $1/streamer since there is over 9 million live broadcasters.

  • VioletVioIence 🎶💜⚧ Jace ⚧💜🎶 (@VioletVioIence) reported

Your takes are ice cold and your going to bat for a corporation is worth as much as the last **** I took. We all know that if people weren't loud about this issue, Twitch would have happily done nothing. If you think otherwise, you're being ******* obtuse.

  • sylvibullet sylvia (@sylvibullet) reported

sometimes i'm feeling down about myself then i remember there are people dedicating their lives to twitch debates and realize i could be doing a lot worst
