@nytimes all 3 of those companies should shut down and close doors. Twitter should also shut down bring back AOL chat MSN chat and Yahoo chat and Myspace with the big friend list

  • JohnLadenburgJr John Ladenburg Jr. (@JohnLadenburgJr) reported

@gbellseattle Everyone knows you can smh in disgust or smh in amazement. What, were these kids never in an AOL chat room?

  • MestasAuthor Karen J. Mestas (@MestasAuthor) reported

@tech2eets Thinking I'm too poor for Twitter. Maybe we can just segregate the poor from the rich with chat rooms like AOL. That way us poor people or dark don't lose our voice.

  • TheVicMonte Vic Monte (@TheVicMonte) reported

$META (Facebook) laying off thousands of employees, Right before the Holidays, 10% of workforce…Reminds me 100% of when @AOL went down the toilet. Which Big Tech Company is Next?

  • samirsoriano Samir Soriano (@samirsoriano) reported

@DeekeTweak Metaverse is definitely a huge risk and probably mismanaged at the moment, though I think this will improve. The pivot is scary for them, sure, but what's the alternative? They don't have a great m&a culture, and dying a slow death like Yahoo or AOL isn't appealing to MZ.

  • dawn_dknapp2 Dawn Knapp (@dawn_dknapp2) reported

@richsignorelli @atrupar I see it going down just like old aol's 2.95 an hour chat boards. Though in defense of pain $2.95 an hour for AOL you had at least an educated group of people because others couldn't afford it outside of their 10 hours of free chat.

  • ExpectedValues ShadowStock (@ExpectedValues) reported

@InaTailHedged My investing has been horrific, scary bad the last few weeks. Excluding buying the next AOL and selling today for profit in celebration of firing 11k at $META

  • Deidre Deidre (@Deidre) reported

@stefanoschen I view every large layoff through the AOL experience - both in being laid off and in not being laid off and watching people around you be let go. Rounds of cuts seem worse for a company than a single awful chop.

  • kassiniy FDR (@kassiniy) reported

@TheMaverickWS They seriously need to drop the entire virtual reality thing, or else they are going down like AOL

  • jdsboston ☁️ JDS ☁️ (@jdsboston) reported

@mfratto @signalapp The most amusing part of this for me is that the people now running signal product roadmap now actually think we're stupid enough to recruit other people to use signal when they've just deadheaded the platform for us. They probably used to work at AOL so they can't help it
