  @_tinatruth Steve Bartlett explained financial bubbles in one minute. The AOL–Time Warner story is a powerful reminder that HIGH VALUATION IS NOT THE SAME AS REAL VALUE. It reminded me of something I wrote on August 17 on my post 👇 A GREAT ASSET doesn’t automatically make a GREAT INVESTMENT. Pay too much, and your returns can suffer. Allocate too much capital, and one mistake can damage your entire portfolio. That’s why I believe good investing isn’t just about choosing the right asset. It’s about paying the RIGHT PRICE and sizing your position wisely. The AOL–Time Warner story didn’t teach me that lesson. It reinforced it.   This current A sol kit is so bad. I don't find him fun at all the active frame on his skills are so slow. It reminds me of prime AOL days when I was kid. I am not asking for damage buffs I am asking for faster cast speed on W and R.

  @ArcadeHorizons @virtualmage17 No immersion issue for me in the 80s, just 2 different atmospheres and that's it. In my opinion, lots of players hate AoL either because of a group effect (especially when it comes to Y-gen players and beyond) or because they didn't get its basic gameplay mechanics.

  On the day Michael Jackson died in 2009, the internet collapsed. The LA Times, AOL, TMZ, AIM, and several other major sites completely crashed. Searches for the King of Pop spiked to an insane ~4.2 million per minute. Google believed it was under some kind of cyber attack because of the sudden flood of people searching “Michael Jackson”. Twitter went down and Wikipedia crashed around 3:15 p.m. PDT.

  @AntiEVidiots When EVs were niche, driving one was like being part of a community with a shared secret. Similar to being on the internet in the early 1990s, before the AOL hordes turned up with their poor netiquette.

  @IzzatStatus The subscription model has been coming for years tbh. Remember how AOL stayed in business simply because so many people never canceled? Combined with the full erosion of ToS contracts, consumers are getting the shaft big time

  @thenarr47271717 @Bit_Faced @theswansjr Your analogy is a bit off Current Bitcoin is not 'The Internet' but more akin to the walled garden of America Online capable of serving only a select few... AOL was consumed by the wider permissionless network that served everybody... If BTC can only serve the masses via custodians it will be no different than a CBDC => It will be outcompeted by a freer money
