@eroticacid I used AOL too for that! I lived with the rents so my options were limited on what I could get Internet wise - until that point it was BBSes and such. Did have dial in to a server at the local university though. FRAMES! OMG. Now they're so verboten but they were the ****.

  • thepocketgeek Not a Taco (@thepocketgeek) reported

@TheRogue_Elf @bitterclinger4e They kept offering me free months every time I called and tried to cancel. So I ended up with like 9 free months of AOL trying to cancel them, LOL.

  • couchtomato62 Couchtomato62 (@couchtomato62) reported

@vitaliyk prodigy was gone by 98. That was my first web based service. Then they tried to charge to use the forums and everybody left for the up and coming AOL! LOL. Google has taken over the world.

  • LlamaPartiet LlamaPartiet (@LlamaPartiet) reported

@Grummz It has the same problems as AOL did when it first started, with no way to stop anyone from creating their own chat rooms and spamming the hell out of everyone else's. Some people are making a lot of money off this platform, but I am not one of them.

  • proberts27 Maverick (@proberts27) reported

@vitaliyk I will proudly say I never had an @AOL account.

  • nordeymckier Nordey (@nordeymckier) reported

@nemalki I had the same issue with the AOL Warner merger like 20 years ago. My teenage brain couldn't handle such a change

  • molliebat mollie hawkins (@molliebat) reported

I think the world sucks now because none of us forwarded those chain letter emails on AOL in 2003

  • MetaLabsUni Sensible GOAT (@MetaLabsUni) reported

@JoshBobrowsky I had to give my email over the phone the other day, used my AOL email bc it’s become my semi-spam email account. I had to repeat A-O-L to the guy twice (which is fine), but his response, “Oh, AOL, got it, never heard of that one.”

  • presjpolk Neil Stevens (@presjpolk) reported

@kerpen You are correct, AOL's entry into the September that Never Ended was March 1994.

  • kronocide1 Antifa Tech Support (@kronocide1) reported

Public service reminder: #KHive members go to the front of the line for tech support and get the best On Hold music. Unless you have an iPhone 4 or an AOL email. Then you're hosed.
