BonkDaCarnivore (@BonkDaCarnivore) reportedSpeaking of suing and losing, did you know that John Cardildo once sued AOL (yes, that AOL - remember he's a Boomer)? It must have been strange for him to be on the Plaintiff's side of the court. Anyhow, not only did he lose his lawsuit (he's never won in court period), but AOL countersued him and got a judgement for $90,547.95 against him. Hey Johnny Boy, did you ever pay your debts?
-
Siggy (@sigdawg25) reported@SteelersNasty I also still have my AOL address. WTF does it matter to people?
-
Michael Javert (@PupHydrogen) reported@remarks I hope they get rid of all the crap and the tattoo FREAKS. I just visited @Myspace and it's a mess. I want a blank page that I can build myself and I hope I don't NEED to know code to do it, but that the coding and copy and pasting is still there. It was a great space and Tom was the best friend. Never cared what I posted, never censored me, never suspended my account or made me play pictionary to get in. I could just log in, find friends, talk to them, have a blog, and say whatever I want without getting dinged for it. It even served as my America Online Profile when AOL went to that Bebo crap or whatever that nonsense was. Hope My Space will be free too. No data broker nonsense.

Yossi Hasson (@yossihasson) reportedThen on 1 December 1996, AOL went flat rate. $19.95. Unlimited. Average usage went from 7 hours a month to 23. The network collapsed. Customers sued. States opened investigations. The CEO had to publicly ask 8 million people to please use the internet less.

Joyfiend Games 😈 (@JoyfiendGames) reported@dampheil @kleeposting AOL probably did the biggest initial damage to internet culture by mailing CDs to every cow-eyed ******* in America. Inviting America to the Online was a huge mistake.
-
🇺🇸Rock Me SAMadeus🇮🇹 (@SamRC1987) reportedWhile we're bringing back MySpace, let's please bring back AOL/AIM, so that I can ditch all of this crap and go meet back up with the other 38-ish-year-olds with lower back pain. We'll interact and log off for the day, and then log back on after Mom is finished with the phone.
