@defymarxism $UBER will wind up being the AOL of ridesharing. Pioneering the concept and in the long run reaping none of the benefit because they fall behind in their own technology. Look for Waymo or someone else to finish the job Uber started This biz never made sense with human drivers

@AOLSupportHelp are you having a problem with imap connections? We use an outlook desktop client and the native iphone mail function and neither is able to connect to aol imap servers @aolmail #aolmail please do not recommend using the aol app the solution

  • rjrscott Roderick Scott (@rjrscott) reported

@johnhuggan I got some stuff from AOL late 2020 regarding use of third party email apps like the iPhone and AOLs encryption not supporting the sign in.I went through the security sign in stuff through their email link and it’s working away.

$T ultimately purchased content for the "convergence" tactic that's as old as AOL / Time Warner. $VZ OTOH enters into a "wholesale" arrangement to procure content to "bundle" with the service. In the end, both $T and $VZ are still left with a "price taker" competitor

If you help an older person with their tech, you should know AOL is either having big issues with IMAP or just silently phased it out. Just had to talk my grandfather through removing and readding his mail accounts to his devices, & a quick twitter search shows AOL IMAP is *****

  • neurovagrant Ian (@neurovagrant) reported

@pi8you Looks like AOL might've ********** IMAP authentication in particular. Traditional IMAP settings returned auth errors since Monday. Removing and readding worked fine but added an OAuth token.

@manicXBT Nope. The elephant in the room is people are too dumb to get it. I do think all of finance will be connected through this system, but you will get watered down AOL, with fund manager/government automatons and bots, ran by corpos.
