I remember those early days of AOL. Signing on and hearing "You've got mail!" was a thrill. I was young and stupid.

@garyvee Discord is like a fancy IRC for people who don't know how to use IRC. It's like AOL being a dumbed down internet for people who don't know how to use the internet.

Thank you for paying money to subscribe to the digital version of our newspaper. As a free gift, we will bombard you with so many bandwidth-sucking ads that your computer will slow to 1995 AOL dial-up speeds.

  • UnlixGhost Adrian Sproule-Hernandez (@UnlixGhost) reported

My cousin works at @amazon, and apparently there was an outage. It is called a wall garden and @AOL did this once before. I worked there during the AOL TIME Warner merger and they encountered the same issues in the 90's. #amazondown

  • RusseldMcLean Russel McLean (@RusseldMcLean) reported

@radiomukhers I may have a solution if you contact me via AOL Instant Messenger... or you could search on Lycos for some help... (Oh God, I suddenly feel REEEALLLLYYYY old...)

@jwillrosenberg @MarkNeuman18 Yeah. idealab! (with the exclamation point), CMGI. etc. I remember when AOL / Time Warner was announced in Mar. 2000. Almost at Nasdaq peak. I wonder whether there will be a mega-cap merger to signal the peak this time that ends up creating a trillion dollar goodwill writedown.

@leman_pie @nixcraft You can be rude all you like. I have been dealing Jeff long before AOL. I spent my own dime, learned AWS and sent my personal feedback to Jeff. It is a service for many things. Use my computer or phone to accesses it and use my internet to use it. Then pay for his servers.
