Say what you will about the antiquated AOL, but my mom still has an account from the ice age, and we had to call support to get a new password bc she forgot hers. They were super efficient and easy to work with, and even had system for adding backup user to the account.

@sassandsarcasm I think DSL was like stupid expensive in Ohio at the time. My dad finally got cable Internet in LATE 2003. Timing in the year is relevant bc he still had AOL when I was home for that summer after a year on university pipeline internet in a brand new dorm 😭

@achornback Kids these days. They will never know what it’s like to get a job through an AOL chat, that leads to an ICQ based interview, that leads to being invited to an IRC server so you can prove yourself over the weekend, before finally talking to HR and getting pay onboarded on Monday.

@ItsBradShepard Bin Hamin is ok bashing and stooging and getting others in trouble and having them lose their jobs for views, but godforbid he loses a payday from 2cw , and releases the only person who made is AOL homepage media group more popular in 1 month than anybody.
