@H31DN1K @D3CAYS3RAPH ****, WHAT WAS THE ONE THING ERIC SAID TO A PERSON ON AOL ABOUT STARS?? I'M THINKING ABOUT THAT, BUT I FORGET THE EXACT WORDS.

  • DianaJoy23 Independent Journalist, Substack (@DianaJoy23) reported

@EbThen @NoTotally When my dad died of cancer last year, we found out he was still paying for an AOL subscription that none of us had used since 2002. I’d just assumed that AOL wouldn’t charge for a service they no longer provide. I should’ve known better.

  • MikeTRose Michael T. Rose (@MikeTRose) reported from Brooklyn, New York

@QuinnyPig Of all the ways AOL did us *****, the worst.

  • claudia_sicon Claudia Sicondolfo (@claudia_sicon) reported

Just over here, reminiscing with my husband about AOL times and early Wild West internet times that ppl moral panicked over, while it rains in mid-January in Toronto, in the middle of a declared provincial state of emergency/global pandemic. Those good ol’ days.

  • StoicAge 𝕿𝖍𝖎𝖘 (@StoicAge) reported

If ppl quit using Google,Twitter,FB and quit patronizing, supporting or sponsoring certain over glorified forms of what some would call entertainment. It would benefit humanity. Keep in mind that Big tech companies can fail. Remember Myspace, yahoo,Aol.That can happen to them too.

  • heymissbell Claire Huxtable (@heymissbell) reported

@AOLSupportHelp So don’t you see the problem? I’ve reset the password myself three times already and your site keeps denying it. And what if I didn’t have access to those recovery options? All of this to log into an email when I can just go to another website and bring traffic to them?

  • FelDaCougar This Is Not Normal. 🌻 (@FelDaCougar) reported

@TransSalamander Well, I mean, in my day I think it was just three. AOL, Prodigy, and... huh. I mostly dialed into ImagiNation Network though.

  • CarrieGately Carrie gately (@CarrieGately) reported

@getongab I have Verizon phone which gave AOL their email service. I signed up for Gab, but got no confirmation. I keep trying to get on. Had to get out of a security search after 1 hour. I’m a nobody. WTF?

  • MrMandolino Mando (@MrMandolino) reported

That year AOL made the decision to offer free internet connection trials and AGGRESSIVELY pursue new users, up to junk mailing floppy disks to their home to get them to sign in and connect to the web. Suddenly, September was the normal state of being on Usenet.

  • Liberalism1984 LiberalDelusion (@Liberalism1984) reported

@getongab Email blocks have existed since the dawn of time for various forums, e.g torrent shares and similar that corps hate, they're just expanding. I thought AOL was shut down.
