    Yesterday my poor iPhone 7 literally burned my leg while walking into work. Got the iPhone 12 Pro Max. I had been basically operating at AOL dial up speed levels for the last five years.

    @AOC Working 24 hours a day at Amazon would be paradise compared to conditions at the boarder. @aol will you go down or is your white outfit still at the dry cleaners?

    AOL's software would try to automatically guess the best possible modem string, but when people had bad connections, they called me (Dial up speed topped out at 56k. ISDN got you 128k. Imagine paying a fortune for garbage bandwidth like that... we did, and we liked it.)

    @jake_jay @whkennedy23 us (me) his old i386(?) with Windows 3.11 for Workgroups. 7.7k baud modem. Was majoring in accounting. Was able to run all programs with no help (AOL, Lotus, some others) and when the modem gave out, installed a new 14.4 baud (it was SCREAMING - only took a couple days to 4/

    Centuries ago, when the internet was young & I decided to check out the world of AOL chat rooms, there was one called "The Nicest ******** Ever." I never went in, b/c I was not a *******. But I still think about it & wonder if I missed out on making nice ******* friends.
