I had to call a business, while in car, this morning and got a busy signal. The look on my 12-yr old’s face… he had never heard that noise before. Wait until I play him the AOL dial up noise

I developed my entire internet access via American Online AOL dial up service and after. It treats me like a very abnormal normal person. I have been balancing the entire internet.

Fun fact: My computer was so close to being able to not run the original EQ well that if I had anything else running, it would stutter and freeze up. When I had to use AOL for about 2 months, this was a problem because the AOL client had to be running and made EQ stutter.

@Starlink has got to be the absolute worst internet service it has ever been my misfortune to have to use. Maintains its connection for 20 seconds at a time, slower than aol on dial up

@TimothyImholt Some of those are still pretty widely used. Never had an AOL account unless AIM counts. You could add 1/2 a generation by including 8-tracks and valve testers.
