@BrandonStraka @getongab It takes a long while, but yes, terrible. Reminds me of AOL dial-up downloads.

@foIkIxre Muller/Scully, on some random geocities x-files or maybe something on AOL I’m sure. I’m 38. Pretty sure it was after the first film pissed me off THAT DAMN BEE.

  • Wzzy Arlene Wszalek (@Wzzy) reported

@VeryBadLlama Reminds me of the early AOL days when people called to complain their sounds weren’t working. They would INSIST it was the service’s fault. Inevitably it was because their speakers were off (or not connected to the computer). Sigh.

  • DianaJoy23 Independent Journalist, Substack (@DianaJoy23) reported

@EbThen @NoTotally When my dad died of cancer last year, we found out he was still paying for an AOL subscription that none of us had used since 2002. I’d just assumed that AOL wouldn’t charge for a service they no longer provide. I should’ve known better.

It's the media traumatizing viewers with their comments not the images. AOL sucks!!

  • EverydaySocial1 More Élan Than Elon (@EverydaySocial1) reported

@iliketeslas The other major difference in that it was obviously stupid at the time. Young ppl knew it (Elon sold!) AOL for e.g. was a dumb business and time-limited: dialup, Yahoo dumb didn’t see google, Worldcom scandal, cisco (switches<>guap), pets & boo dumb, amazon$$$
