@datalore66 Completely random but I'm reminded that my terrible emotionally abusive metalhead first boyfriend's AOL screen name when we met was "Exumed666" or something like that and I was embarrassed for him that he left out the H

@elonmusk @SwipeWright If you add on the ability to make public and private chat rooms by category or topic like in the old AOL days, I'd be willing to pay 8 dollars. turn it into a one stop service. and if you make a phone, please push privacy.

@hodgetwins @elonmusk @DavidSacks This is a similar situation that saw Microsoft being broken up in the 90's. For you youngsters, Microsoft was late to the internet browser game, and were losing to AOL and other browsers. To counter this, they installed IE into all of their computers. AOL sued and won.

@redpillx2 @Timcast That was one of the reasons it had to have a law put in place ya. It was a catch-22 at the time. The Zeran v AOL case was arguing inaction in removing content was a problem. Other cases argued that removing cases constituted moderation and thus made them a publisher. ConvolutedAF

But there's very few parties anymore and I'll go months between IRL friend hang outs. I text with people daily but yeah. I think I cling to social media because it's really all I have these days. I mostly just hang out in twitch chat rooms for that old school vibe of AOL chatting

@CosjuonB @pronounspal @TheEnemiesPE3 That wasn’t what killed WCW. WCW continued to win the ratings war after. WCW’s horrible mismanagement up top and the Time Warner/AOL sale killed them. The Halloween Havoc **** up killed them. Would’ve killed WWF at the time too, had they did it. Millions had to be refunded.

@Melt_Dem maybe you are talking about that. I was alive at the time. The CDs that AOL sent out were a dilutive slow rug. first 60 minutes free, then 90, then a million.
