    @anarchoboognish That's a tough one... Not many uses for CDs beyond, being media storage. Ages ago I used to do stupid art with those AOL demo discs. You could smash them into little sharp pieces and glue them together into a piece that represents moving on from toxic things you're nostalgic for?

    (( trigger warnings below. Do not read further here. I started roleplaying at the age of 12 in 1996. AOL was popular. I got my first computer to hang in AOL chat rooms. It was a wild west of chat rooms and Google barely worked. Search bars only found porn.

    my aoL sister [used the internet until wifi landed] had a nicname for me growing up. she used to chant it when i got tired on a bike ride and started slowing down IKe cuL BIKEL RICKY KinZ i dont know whati it unraelly means, but i chose the capitalization based on what CoG gNOME

    @PyroMew Literally applied to more than I can count for years and years now, and I've never gotten an interview for a single one. And I literally worked office-based remote work for ages doing tech support for AOL.

    I just read about all the layoffs at CNN…I walked away from CNN in 2001 as soon as I could under my then existing contract after AOL came in (Jan 2001) and began laying off my friends…it was awful to remain when so many friends were pushed out..
