@JaneotN if it crashes down find another social media :) I was sick and homebound for high school years and found my outlet through AOL chatgroups and somethingawful, I've been an internet denizen ever since. The sites come and go, and sometimes the people do too, but WE keep on trucking

  • dctenery DCT (@dctenery) reported

The Well, ImagiNET, Popnet, Usenet, Mindvox, AOL... I've been through this all before from all sides (user, founder, employee). The communities have become increasingly bigger and less personal. Some good in this, a lot of bad. What's next?

  • badgerbrian2010 Brian Smith (@badgerbrian2010) reported

@Avi_Bueno Maybe you should worry more about people like SBF who managed to loose millions of peoples money over night, rather than a platform to speak that quite frankly would be replaced by another if it went down… aol message boards/MySpace etc etc

@schnufflerowner @kohenari I don't know if you're old enough to remember when aol connected to the wider internet, but it was similarly WTF?
