  @aolmail Just how many months is it acceptable for the App Password Generator to be down. I have 3 AOL Mail accounts that I need to access through Outlook. You say I have to generate an app password, when I try you tell me that the feature is unavailable. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER

  Trust me when I say I’ve been into conspiracies since YouTube first came out. I’ve had a computer since I was six years old, back in the AOL dial-up days. Looking back, it all feels like it was by design. It explains why I was such a little ****. It explains the betrayals. It explains everything I went through. I was early to all of it. Like, really ******* early. Everything you’re seeing now is nothing new to me. It might be new to you after 2020, but I was already deep in this **** years before that. That’s how it has always been for me. And the dumb ***** who knew me in real life and still follow me would vouch for that. They know I’m not gassing this **** up. I’d actually love for them to speak on it because they saw how early I was to all of this. They won’t admit it, but I know they stalk my profile. And when I drop the numbers, this is not me being vain or thinking I’m better than anyone. I’m explaining why I’ve always felt like such an old ******* soul. I was raised around people who never understood me, and I only fully realised that around 2020.   The answer is, no. The advice is to build a sandbox properly. An AI that can steal credentials is the worst example of a sandbox I’ve seen since 1996 when I was head of testing for the launch of all new technology for AOL in the UK, and AIM globally. This is all 100% PR. Is AI a danger to society? Yes. But that’s because the humans at the wheel don’t care.

  This pro-PRC model industry group from Silicon Valley is interesting but I think not thinking long-term. Why can’t the frontier labs do something like AOL did with its Greenhouse project and say OK, I will let you distill but we want equity in your company and/or a fee. AOL got equity for promotion/placement on the screen. (we committed 30+ million at MarketWatch, helped traffic and the ipo a lot, but worst company I have ever negotiated with). Anyway, apologies for the digression, but why couldn’t this be similar but for distillation access, and the labs like Anthropic and OpenAI could end up with a really interesting portfolio of companies, some of which might become quite valuable, and those smaller firms’ VCs could also benefit? Otherwise, does it really make sense for a huge swathe of the American technology industry to end up dependent on PRC models? Haven’t we learned any lessons from other industries where PRC firms have been able to come in at a very low cost with good products and effectively create dependencies that crowd at all other competitors? And now we are talking about the most transformative industry in many years, and it could be even worse if it’s built in part through some problematic practices in terms of distillation attacks and export control violations, if some of US government’s and frontier labs’ claims are true?
