@lindaholmes You’d think people like that could at least be more creative. It reads like a 90s tween going nuts in an aol chat room. Sorry you have to deal w/ such crap.

  • Allison_Ivy79 (((Allison Ivy))) (@Allison_Ivy79) reported

@CrazyNormie We had aol instant messanger as our form of communication. Almost all my friends went to NYU, lots of fam lived LES. We didn't know what was going on. Cell towers were down. People left up away messages they were ok / injured / someone was missing or died.

@AndrewPradameki @DanRafael1 Maybe get off AOL and get fibre because mine has never frozen unlike sky as soon as there's a storm the whole thing goes off

  • clockworkwhale Clockwork Whale (@clockworkwhale) reported

@keppla @jonst0kes Yeah agree that's a problem, it's only a useful concept for people above an undefined intelligence/thoughtfulness floor I had experience 20 yrs ago of fooling dumb people using Elizabot/Alicebot plugins for aol messenger, and they are *very* simple and not coherent at all

  • MagicUnderwood MagicSD1 (@MagicUnderwood) reported

@Whothefookisth3 @ShiningPolaris No, that's not the final nail in the coffin, like in a recent interview with Ted Turner himself he stated (paraphased) "Had I'd known that AOL would be involved in that merger that I was involved in, I would've never let that business decision happen"

  • 13banger83 Izzy (@13banger83) reported

@eCinemaOne @jasonskyknight @WrestlePurists Ted Turners divorce and having to sell his company was the reason WcW went to the shits. AOL didn’t care about the product and ran it down the shitter until the company was at a point where AOL could sell it off.

I've released a patch for the AOL Mailto add-on on Firefox to fix an issue with the link directing users to a 404. Additional improvements will be made in the coming weeks to ensure that the add-on works for languages other than English. #cwaddons #aolmailto

Bugaboo old fashioned as **** because my child doesn’t know what aol or mci is

  • KropolisGaming Kropolis 🎮 Mass Effect 2 (@KropolisGaming) reported

@MegamattX86 Sometimes. The old AOL days. I do miss some of the friends I met in Star Wars Galaxies all those years ago. I even had a good discussion myast evening playing with a guy who was an in-character douche for years. Never broke character until that evening. Good times.

  • Radioti_me RadioTime™ (@Radioti_me) reported

@eponafan @RedRoseTwoHands @McDonalds "huh what? I couldn't hear you" I never allow that **** on my phone. Long ago, when AOL had an app for the desktop, that you load from a floppy (lol)... hackers figured out how to take your credits for AOL time and move it to their account. Lesson learned.
