@blaireerskine In the early 2000s, my friend Kandace posted on some messageboard about remembering banana clips and slap bracelets. Some dude tracked down her AOL IM, and kept asking her to describe the banana clip, how she wore it, what it felt like to put the banana clip on, etc. For weeks.

@parlertakes Umm I'm pretty sure the DPRK still uses AOL discs to get online, and even even then I'm sure that the number of people with access is less than 200. The worst part of living in the first world is first world whinners who do not know how good they actually have it.

@michael_saylor @elonmusk Horrible idea! Bitcoin is the AOL of email. The industry is still evolving and there may be other winners. Also, just one mention of the US government getting involved and it will drop +80%.

@mnocks @ossoff @ReverendWarnock You’ll deny other because you had to struggle?? No free 5G WiFi for kids because we had to use dial up on AOL for 50 dollars a month? And those kids will spend money. They’ll start business. It’s the real trickle down
