    @avc it’s not a technology problem. it’s not a technology problem. it’s not a technology problem. we’re not in a golden age of ANY content. We’re at the point that e-mail was when CompuServe and AOL wouldn’t interchange because they made more money in walled gardens.

    @DelWilber Twitter's part of the problem, while they make all sorts of other changes to their platform, they avoid the main problem of trolling and harassment. It's a problem AOL solved 25 years ago with word filters. No modern social media uses that very simple method to even flag posts.

    People tend to write about the AOL Time Warner but AOL secured its place in history long before that. For example, it was the first web service that figured out how to effectivel sacke content for millions of simutaneous users — something even Netscape didn’t do as well then.
