  I worked from home no doubt. Started with fax machines. We actually used high resolution fax machines to transfer camera ready artwork. Long before AOL dial up. F.I.N.S. works with all software or no computer at all like morse code after a first strike during the Cold War my SOS.

He joined AOL in 1995 in tech support and rode it from 100,000 subscribers to over 30 million, working his way up to IT Operations Manager running networks for Arizona. Then the dot-com bubble burst and he was loading cargo at Delta for fifteen dollars an hour. He rebuilt through Sprint Nextel, eTelecare, and Limelight Networks, and in 2008, in the middle of a financial crisis, he founded Top Class Actions on one brutal statistic: roughly 95 percent of consumer class action settlements go unclaimed. TCA became the world's most popular site for class action website. Then he went full stack. When Arizona became the first state to allow non-lawyer ownership of law firms, Scott, a non-lawyer, co-founded LegaFi Law in 2022 to represent the plaintiffs his site was already finding. In 2024 he launched Trimaxian, a litigation funding syndicate that lets accredited investors and family offices back class actions.

  Wow surprisingly tone deaf post from an @openai top executive. Feels like AOL or Compuserve arguing about how dangerous and bad for innovation an open internet would be. Permissionless innovation. That’s what open weight models offer.

  Crypto has hit a local maxima, like the internet did in 1998. How you monetize currently in crypto is to clip trading volume. The users doing volume are traders. so everything ships for traders, perps, options, CEXes, dexes, launchpads, etc... Build for traders and you get instant traction. build for anyone else and you get crickets, so the traction data says traders are the only market, and the capital follows the traction data. in 1998 every serious internet company was a portal. Yahoo, Excite, Lycos, AOL, Infoseek. the metric was traffic. Everything was built to keep the user on the page, because the user on the page was the business. Search was actively deprioritized. A good search engine sends the user away, which is negative stickiness, which made search a bad product. In 1999 Excite passed on buying Google for under a million dollars. In 2000 Yahoo hired Google to power its own search results, because search was a cost center you outsourced. We are in the portal era of crypto. The Google of crypto will not show immediate traction. Google didn't. It sent users away, made no money, and looked like a toy to every smart person grading it on 1998's metric. If you want immediate traction, the market has plenty for you. Go find the next pump fun. The next Aster. The next shiny thing traders rotate into for three weeks. The next big thing requires conviction about what crypto is for, not what does volume in the next 30 days.

  LOL, compete with other streaming mergers. Paramount+ works worse than AOL dial-up in the 1990's. It sucks so bad they need help!

  @KydJustice Guaranteed money didn't almost ruin wrestling. Lack of variety almost did. Guaranteed money in the form of Ted Turner ensured WCW stayed afloat. AOL/Time Warner's disinterest in keeping WCW led to the Bottleneck Era. Brooks is being full of ****. As per usual.

  You're prompting frontier AI through the same keyboard layout you used for AOL Instant Messenger. The models got 1000x smarter. The interface didn't move an inch. $5.5M says Aina's building the fix. This is the hardware gap I've been watching for someone to close.
