  • tolles Chris Tolles (@tolles) reported from Vancouver, Washington

@davidclowery @jeffkazee I was negotiating with the labels in 01 when I built a streaming service at aol and they were such pricks (canned my thing, did musicnet) A lot of this is legacy bad blood. I think a bit more flexibility seems reasonable. Real villain isn’t Apple Music, it’s the Apple Store 30%

  • fakemilf mcdonalds 🍟 barbie (@fakemilf) reported

@bat_mantis @frootylilguy The days before reverse image search when you could just Google “hot girl” and some nasty old man on aol was like Damn I am so horny. Meanwhile I was 11

@kurently Never did Kik, but I do remember using AOL chatrooms. I remember typing hi and giving my age, and the next thing I knew, I was getting a bunch of guys messaging me for a private chat. 😶

@matthewdmarsden Yea. It's my first and still my main one. Don't get the issue over AOL. Like really who cares and how does my email affect anyone else? People are obsessed with this discussion though. I've heard many times " you still have AOL? Yea so!

@Section_230 @SergioVengeance Fail. "Section 230, however, plainly immunizes computer service providers like AOL from liability for information that originates with third parties." Zoran determined it was defamatory & demanded AOL apologize for platforming it. Not the same as de-platforming legal content.

  • Kiyoshi_Seaman Kiyoshi Mitarai (@Kiyoshi_Seaman) reported

I had a computer 20 years ago, but it was a Dell computer and it was running Windows XP. I spent time back then reading anime fan fictions, but I will never talk about the fully story behind that. I used AOL dial-up in 2003.

  • drclownworldMD DrClownWorld (@drclownworldMD) reported

@BuckeyeInternet @ADB_419 Their internet service sucks for the price u pay. I never experienced such unreliable internet. Even dial up aol in 1999 was better. Get used to rebooting your modem constantly. I am trying to switch providers but they froze my account even though I am up to date in payment.

  • cmagallanezz Christian (@cmagallanezz) reported

bro wtf is chatGPT ; it reminds me of AOL software ngl

It’s amazing to think how big a company can get and just fail. AOL owned Warner Brothers at one point now the only thing they own is boomers e-mail addresses.
