  @Wajson_Crack I was using Netscape back in those days. Netscape is a browser- like Duck or Brave or FoxFire- Big competition back then to be the Browser king between netscape and ms internet explorer, then AOL stepped in and acquired netscape as their own in their platform. The 80's was the mad rush to claim the Everests of tech. I was in IT back then- even did the in person lecture series for certifications for MS. GIANT 4-5 inch wide binders of microsoft crap -carried with you into hours upon hours of MS lectures. LOL

  Stay the F away from @watchcommnet ! Use starlink, aol, dialup, *anything* else! When I get ahold of customer support they are wonderful, but getting to is near impossible. 40 minute wait times. Hung up after holding for 1 hour 27 minutes. Get a voicemail, etc.. #hell

  I think David Zaslav will go down in media history, with Steve Case, as the two greatest salesmen to ever rip off clueless suitors. Case convinced Time Warner/Gerald Levin that AOL was far more valuable than it was, and Zaslav sold Warner Brothers Discovery for a ruinous price.

  @SpaceX service is hands down a nerd's dream. At 37 years old, having gone from getting an AOL disk at the Grand Union to 300+ Mbps from space tickles me in a way my wife can’t.

  @ThatJohnJones Compuserve - there's a blast from the past! My first personal computing experience was a Viglen Genie circa 1990 My first personal internet connection was AOL - which I installed via a disc sent in the post Censorship was zero & the internet was amazing, if infuriatingly slow
