@GregCfollows @joshtpm @MaxKennerly IMO, just on the er, face of it, Facebook is AOL. I've never been on it partly for that reason-- I had been an original AOL user, no need to duplicate that experience.

@KikiWellington Then again, admittedly, I've never been a big fan of changes when they happen. I complained the same way when AOL used to change when they upgraded to new versions. Lol

@emollick Is it impossible to ignore the trolls? Back in the day of AOL chat rooms we just ignored the trolls. When nobody took the bait, they left. The problem is that everyone wants to hold the troll up as an example of their ideological opponent and give them lots of exposure.

@MaxKennerly I put that more as a counter to my own thinking and biases. As I explained in the thread, there are many signs of bad times ahead for them. Tend to think it's like AOL/Yahoo. It's a big big ship. So it can burn on the sea for a very long time before it goes down.
