Rouchos (@rouchosfyi) reportedKids today will never know the high-stakes gamble of using an AOL disc to install the internet, only to have a 2-hour download ruined because someone in the house picked up the landline phone

iSpooge Daily with Harλan 📡 Media Tech R&D (@iSpoogeDaily) reportedOh it's mother's day? I don't know what the deal with my family was. Our AOL profile that my dad wrote when we first got the Internet said we were a dysfunctional family. He's dysfunctional, mom was probably broken. My brother and I? Sought help from the world, no God at home.

Amanda (@Manda4UA) reportedI miss the era when we were forced to savagely rank our best friends online. People today would never survive MySpace or AOL chat rooms, for that matter.
-
Bullish Teddy (@bullish_teddy) reported@qatarairways it’s nonsensical that I can’t upgrade my flights because I’ve booked with non-Qatar airways as part of a 3-flight trip when the first 2 flights are Qatar. Are we living on ******* dial up internet and your AOL disc just crashed or some ****? Pathetic.

TheBougiePigeon (@plainOTXen) reported@IndexAndForget I entered college when dial up AOL was still a household stable but the dorm had T1 over Ethernet. People were downloading songs in 30 seconds and sharing on the internal network. I knew the end of AOL was near. Other similar tech companies on the timeline recently. $AUR $JOBY

Michael Mealling -- e/acc (@mmealling) reported@a69774 @jeremykauffman @HarrisonHSmith The DNS A-root was there (now it's anycasted). That was why one of the first network interconnects was built there. Then that was why Amazon built us-east-1 there. AOL built there because of that first interconnect.
