@AdamSerwer Shapiro acts like a social media company cannot fail if people stop going to it. History is replete with examples of the stupidity of this kind of thinking. Twitter is a soufflé, just like WebTV was, or MySpace, or AOL.

@ScottKPetersen Hello Scott, Sorry about you AOL account issues. It's sad that support team don't give necessary support when we need them. I had similar experience last month thanks to XSOLVE1 on Instagram who helped recovered mine I suggest you reach out for support.

  • ATdoubt ATDoubt (@ATdoubt) reported

@ABC Is US democracy so fragile that a change of ownership of an “app” threatens it, or is the loss of public discourse & narrative control what threatens “my version” of democracy? A very simple and tested solution-Parler: get Google, Verizon, AT&T, AOL to block traffic from Twitter!

  • pt Maybe: Parker (@pt) reported

@mattyglesias Though worth noting we all thought in 2005 that you won by being an open platform and were deathly afraid of becoming AOL, so everyone was genuinely trying to become a platform before realizing the opposite strategy was correct and locking it all down to own the ad businesses.

  • koleross Kole Ross (@koleross) reported

Simpsons memes might not be at the height of their powers right now, but they’ll never go away fully. One of the first things I did when we got home internet in the 90s was use AOL to download .wav files of Simpsons jokes. Oh, the bountiful harvest of Ralph Wiggum compilations.

  • DellaABoynton Della Boynton (@DellaABoynton) reported

@davidgokhshtein When I have to input an AOL email address, I can't help laughing, but people will not give it up.

  • BillnTedsReport Be Excellent to Each Other (@BillnTedsReport) reported

@WhatsFuss @iowahawkblog If you agree that Elon Musk's bid to buy Twitter is just AOL 2.0, then you are very, very stupid. This event is historic. It will shape the course of the 21st century. @iowahawkblog no doubt knows this and just plays dumb. You on the other hand are just dumb.

  • _NicoleNonya Nicole Nonya stands for M4A, Focus on that 💡 (@_NicoleNonya) reported

@ItsMeHelenMary If there is customer service like during AOL days, @elonmusk ensured there's a call center for customer service, in order to finally get rid of all the bots, alts, individuals who clone people, yes, I am fine with paying.

  • JB_RandLandStan Joe B (he/him) (@JB_RandLandStan) reported

@wheeloftimerook The forsaken are powerful and wreaked all kinds of damage in the AoL, but ultimately it is their selfishness which makes them predictable/useful to the dark one. Arguably Lanfear is the least true to this, having had a thirst for power that outstripped reliance on the Dark One.
