@MrGGallacher Yep. Dial up modem. Sign into AOL first. Proper crap. Kids don’t know how good they’ve got it these days (typing on a mobile phone with instant connection)

@csaint02 @TrustlessState I think one of the issues is AOL was so heavily invested with local dialup numbers/telco contracts they just couldn’t turn the ship fast enough

@PaulRiz504 @sama This a dumb take. Tech has a trajectory that can’t be stopped, good or bad. How the hell does it take away anything from STEM? Such a boomer, get off my lawn and still using AOL comment.

@bendreyfuss I think, as I recall, the "idea" was that Road Runner would be the national broadband provider in the US, which you would need if you wanted AOL. AOL, in retrospect, should have developed their own broadband network.

@washedwiz We are not negative. We want to win! You can support an organization that failed for decades. NBA is not AOL.

@RealAllinCrypto DOT ecosystem is eclipsing everything Ripple was designed to do and more. Basically, the XRP shtick about banks' walled gardens/ cross border payments is now old tech. It'll be respected as an OG crypto but in the same way AOL was the foremost ip service. Its day has gone.

Twitter help me out I’m trying to remember a movie that has a bit where they send an email and someone is like “can’t you un-send it?” And the other character is “we can’t we don’t have AOL technology” Wanna say a mission impossible movie

@POTUS Rural Pennsylvania doesn’t have cell service and only dial up in many areas. Also how do you expect people, to afford hi speed internet? When none is available. I still have an AOL account.
