@sethmeyers Did AOL mail CDs or CD-ROMs? Too bad ‘tweren’t CD-Rs In that case I would say … “Ya burnt”! I need a job #hackers #corrections

  • THENEWWAM Sam🧢 (@THENEWWAM) reported

@synopsisav @KimSaenz9 @davemeltzerWON That is true, but the circumstances are bit different. AOL TimeWarner weren’t bored they just never were interested in Wrestling period, it was only Ted Turner who was, so once the merger happened and they got him out of the way, they sold WCW for cheap

  • MichaelDavSmith Michael David Smith (@MichaelDavSmith) reported

@WillBrinson The internet keeps everything except FanHouse. Some dumb **** I wrote for some dumb geocities-looking blog 20 years ago? Still findable. Stuff I'm actually proud of that I wrote for FanHouse? Gone forever. Making stuff disappear is the only thing AOL ever did well.

@Dstone356 @UberFacts In 1993 AOL began mailing discs to prospective customers in one of the largest and most aggressive direct-mail campaigns ever. Discs contained the software needed to use AOL and provided 15 few hours of free service.

@SilverbowReborn Move AOL down to 6, below baby siuan for me and keep the same order of the others. I think the only one I had a "complaint" for was the gearing up one. The rest were some nit picks here and there. Thought 1-7 were well done though!

@montefisto13 @MrCumbria80 @davemeltzerWON AOL who was the parent company, tried to turn Wcw into what the fed is today. They also had no interest in owning a wrestling company. This has been stated several times over the last couple of decades. Wcw was set up to fail after the merger allowing it to sell cheap and fast.

  • liekitisnot Liekitisn’t (@liekitisnot) reported

@HollyBriden My 18 month old FaceTimed me on AOL messenger and said he looks like he smells bad. I immediately dropped to the floor, curled up into ball, and sobbed. I’m still suffering PTSD from his violent assault on the Chris Matthews show. Worse than Jan. 6.

  • montefisto13 Tim (@montefisto13) reported from Providence, Rhode Island

@13banger83 @MrCumbria80 @davemeltzerWON Time Warner that owned them . The AOL deal wasn’t finalized until a little over a month before WCW was sold. I’m sure the 24 months when the deal was being worked out didn’t help but AOL was buying a 150+ billion dollar company. The already failing WCW wasn’t a huge factor
