I think the Wired article was online-only, but I may be able to track it down a little later. I was an AOL user at the time, and in early 2001, Joey's AOL Hometown profile had yet to be deleted.

@ladyriven @amymebberson They wouldn’t even let us at the local WB station save those when AOL shut down the WB stores - they had to be destroyed and the destruction documented on video… Some did get out - I remember the San Diego affiliate rescues a flying Superman statue, had it hung in a stairwell…

Fed up with how dogshit Sky Broadband is, been offline more than I’ve been online all day. It’s been the same issues since I’ve been back in London for the past 2.5 weeks. AOL in 1998 was more reliable than Sky EVER will be. Pattern up ********* KMFT FIX UR **** WIFI U *****
