    @ForHumanityPod Not it wasn't. It was BBS systems, IRC, and online service providers like AOL who let us connect to the world and get information and software. You idiots probably don't even know what warez was. Look it up. I used to make a **** ton of money as a kid off of it.

    @danbright_ @Hertz I have no idea how they are staying in business. I know rental cars is a low margin one, but this is insanely horrible customer service. AOL in the early- and mid-2000s had better customer service. lol

    @gordie_smith Eventbrite was a horrible public company. AOL is an ice cube. You can make really good money buying them cheap and running them off (or turning them around), but it works way better in private markets w 5-10 year horizons. Most of the companies that do this well (that Iā€™m aware of) are privately held. Opentext would be an example of a public one. Super low multiples, pretty crappy performance (although did well early on when it was smaller). I wish them a ton of luck, but I just expect over a multi-year horizon, the market will decide it hates the stock even if they make good decisions and create value.

    @redrum_panda Yea I watched my mom connect to the dial-up, AOL and then look up the Yodas Help website for the games that pointed to the ATI drivers. They thought I was too dumb to do it on my own but it was game over for them.

    Anyone with dial up Internet can Google or AOL this and find out in an hour or so, that you are full of ****. You have come down with a diarea of the brain saturation and your brain is spilling ****.

    @Boblhead truly!! was at a restaurant today and someone's ringtone was the AOL dial-up tone. ended up going down a rabbithole bc of that

    I was likening it to banning Usenet, BBS'es, forums, all of which I was on before 16 -- and AOL Instant Messenger which was invented after I was older -- but this is true too. Awful mistake. Though if it gets kids reading more again from boredom, that could be one silver lining.

    @AOL What a shame you now have ruined the email by inputting ADS. How ridiculous was this and unfair to everyone? We do not want ads in our email please. How about bringing back your chat rooms which used to be so fun and not like on other apps that are just so bad? Would you please consider that? And get rid of the ADS in email please. Thanks!
