@MrCoolCat92 @RonFilipkowski That's something you'll have to bring up with private corporations that have their own rules. I think it sucks that the internet is not the free for all it was years ago. I hate that it's turning into AOL. I am a capitalist and this is not my decision.

  • chiggady Chiggs (@chiggady) reported

@xylem44 @ExcellencyBlack @MONR0WE Definitely longer. Used to login to aol and go to a guest room to talk to my friends lol

  • activeside /MM (@activeside) reported

@andybudd There's a continuity in technology from web 1.0 and web 2.0 platforms. Facebook was a big jump from AOL but remains in the same line of technology. Metaverse, as envisioned by Meta, belongs to gaming, technologically, not web. That's why it might fail, just like Second Life.

  • MrAhMerryCa Victor A. George (@MrAhMerryCa) reported

@elonmusk @HSajwanization Can @elonmusk make it $4.99 instead of $8.00? Those living in “**** hole countries” - Oops, not what I meant to say, are gonna have hard time with paying 8 bucks a month. AOL’s destiny changed after Subscription price hike! Did we learn from that yet?

If you never heard of Cingular Wireless, Wachovia bank , or AOL…address me as Auntie 😌

  • geekpondering Geekpondering 💙 💛 (@geekpondering) reported

@AoDespair Some people are saying the Twitter acquisition is the SECOND worst acquisition in tech history after the AOL Time Warner merger.

  • sher_cares Sherry #VoteLikeYourRightsDependOnItBecauseTheyDo (@sher_cares) reported

@tech2eets Remember when AOL gave their service away for free and then started charging what happened to them? No other social media site charges to use their service because they rely upon ads!

  • philippawarr Pip (@philippawarr) reported

I left AOL/HuffPo just before every writer there got blue ticked. I wondered if not having one would affect me or if I should have hung on longer. In the many years since, not having a blue tick has never come up, and I’ve only ever seen it used as a Twitterati insult so.

  • DearZombieDiary Vaguely Dissatisfied Zombie (@DearZombieDiary) reported

@FeralCherylZ I’m old enough to say AOL went though **** like this before they became irrelevant, too.

  • IWMcLaren Isa likes candy more than scary. (@IWMcLaren) reported

@eee_lye_wray I'm on IG a little, probably more as time goes on. Something similar to this name but can't recall now. I find discord harder to keep up with than all the aol chat rooms back in the day. I use it but damn my brain hates it.
