    @Eve6 @ry_storm A group of them ganged up on me on an AOL message board in 1994 and I've never forgotten it. I said something dumb to try and impress them and they saw right through me. I felt like a fraud the next 8 shows I went to.

    It’s sort of crazy how people concerned about vaccine side effects have no filter when it comes to what type of **** they post. I’m concerned about vaccines but can’t imagine posting 1990s AOL chain letter style **** to make my case, what a weird way to blow your own position

    We all agree: the idea of Facebook as the main steward of the Metaverse is awful. But protesting it is not gonna prevent it. What we need is a better open alternative, what Netscape was to AOL and MSN back in the day. We need an open metaverse, we need a metaverse W3C

    @malleableware @LisaForteUK Yes I’ve never been on BookFace Meta what’s it called either. Or bebo or aol or anything else ‘trendy’ except Twitter of course. High quality, non-trivial, deep tech Twitter. After all I only have so much time to waste.

    @pen_is_mighty off the world? AOL was bad back then, but this is worse. But by the looks of it, Facebook is going the same way AOL went.
