I miss the Delicate nature of 56k modems and their audio output which added layers of ptsd of potentially waking up your parents because you’re awake this late, reconnecting to that stupid aol disc you’ve been throwing around the house like frisbee.

What you may or may not know is that David’s character in this sketch is directly based on a man who worked at AOL and who called himself “the digital prophet.” That man did not appreciate this sketch and came down to the green room to tell Bob.

@AOLSupportHelp My mom somehow changed her password without realizing it and the recovery number assigned to it she hasn't had access to in year. Can you help us in getting her password reset so she can access her email again?

@fastorangecar And then the download packet would fail at 96% so you’d have to start it over and explain to your mom that it was for school so please don’t go on AOL until after the progress box is gone.

Years ago, my Father invented the precursor to the internet. He made computers exchange data for the first time over phone lines. The CIA stole the idea and he was never properly compensated. They said he was the superest of the super geniuses but he liked to drink. @CIA @AOL

@Beekling23 Ahhh yes, the good ol' AOL free CD days. I used to enjoy being able to order 10 CDs for the price of 1 back in the day too. Most of the time they forgot to bill you lol. Can't recall the name of the service that did it though.

@RokerReport Lets not forget the previous owners have put the club 3 years behind. Jobs for the boys, letting the AOL become a supermarket for other teams, all the best coaches have left as the money was dropped, this has to have a knock on effect. No quick fix here for the new owner.
