@MrGGallacher Yep. Dial up modem. Sign into AOL first. Proper crap. Kids don’t know how good they’ve got it these days (typing on a mobile phone with instant connection)

  • saleat Sandra Leat (@saleat) reported from Portsmouth, England

@Kupohero @bergman864 @HeelYajuu Lol AOL was the main reason went out . Stop trying to use the ratings or the success thing . It didn’t help , but even good ratings more than likely wouldn’t have mattered.

@silentkil_er A very slow dialup modem and trying 10 AOL numbers before you finally connect.

@revmagdalen The absolute dumbest **** is trying to explain the current world to people still using an aol email.

  • bindingrod 🎀Dani Kandi🎀 (@bindingrod) reported

@cattydragons @HazelDomain This happened in the general chat of the project that I am a staff member on (re-AOL, I do new member onboarding). I was explaining the Patreon to a new member who had questions about it when suddenly, this dude comes in with bad faith about it.

@cronokirby Open-access, you are not restricted because of identity or geographical location. Other arguments: - Auditable service - Access to an internet of dapps vs AOL But generally, operators have incentive to build it first and the bet is that they'll outcompete existing services.

  • TimOLearyOnline Tim O'Leary (@TimOLearyOnline) reported

@silentkil_er Hours -- and I mean HOURS -- were spent in AOL chat room chatting with strangers you would never hear from again.

  • Unos_Eyepatch Uno's 👁️ Patch | Tai'shar Malkier (@Unos_Eyepatch) reported

@geekyeri Please no montage. I won't mind if they cut down the number of steps Rand takes though. They've already proven they can do AoL flashbacks, though showing ones in the city might be more challenging. I need to see the bore-ing, and I NEED Beidomon to be cast.

@acczibit The only non-ironic originality can be found amongst the boomers that never forwarded an aol chainmail

  • on_tesla On Tesla (@on_tesla) reported

@jeremyjudkins_ What will really blow his mind is learning literally every ad based service does exactly the same thing. What he’s describing is data used for user fingerprinting, which Every ad provider does (Facebook, Insta, Snap, Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, AOL, and countless others)
