@jrade762 @exQUIZitely The customer (you) paid for your phone line + either the hourly/monthly rate to AOL. Since connecting meant you couldn't use your phone for calls many people ended up getting a 2nd phone line (more $ to Ma Bell) until DSL lines came into play.

@ThrillaRilla369 AOL. I lost my *** on that garbage company when my brokerage managed account doubled down on AOL-Time Warner.

Yep. Got in BIG trouble as a teen because we didn’t have internet at home so I grabbed a free AOL disc from Kmart then snuck a line from the phone block through ceiling into my bedroom and accidentally picked a non local access number and let it run at nights racking up huge bill

@GoldLoverXo I personally think history simply repeats itself. Just like in the .com bubble most of the early investors sold as they drop the price down through many different levels of manipulation. The big boys loaded up cheap as retail panic sold. Before the utility like Google, Yahoo,AOL.

When Netscape was acquired by AOL in 1998 for $4.2B they were still unprofitable but had >50% revenue growth and dominant market share with revenue projected to grow at a 44% CAGR and surpass $1B in just a few years. Sound familiar? You wont guess what happened next: $MSFT bundled Internet Explorer with Windows for free and took 80% of the share overnight. If you don't know how to apply this historical analogue to today I cant help you.

@djvlad You need to stop tricking and announcing it. Paying for free **** is ain't a flex, plus AOL opened the floodgates in the 90s

More begrudging. MSM still not commenting: AOL: "Gas prices are falling but will the trend continue" Consumer News:" When it comes to gas prices, there's good news and bad news"

@dotkrueger It's all dogshit IMO. It will tumble down and something else will take its place. This is AOL.
