@JulieTheCranky When my family first got internet, it was a 14.4k modem, which was fine for the time. The problem was we didn't have any local ISPs, so we had to connect to AOL using a 1-900 number that cost $6/min. Downloading pictures had a direct cost at those speeds!

@MSFTIssues @Microsoft Shameful for this country leaders. Lets talk about Verizon’s heartless move to charge $15 per 1GB for their wireless Jetpack. The plan comes with 15 or 30 GB, but you can run out data in 2 days, then they reduce the speed to 600 KB ( slow like AOL 1999) @Verizon shame on you.

What’s funny is I started habbo on AOL dial-up, if you know how slow things were back then, I need that patience back.

@LincolnsBible Not so much. The issue with Twitter (Google, FB) isn't the quality of their censorship, it's that some heir monopoly positions give their decisions outsized power. Require open APIs a'la AOL/Time decree.

@dcincluded @BorahaeFunds @LadyAlustria When setting up email addresses. Yes you have to validate those numbers. I use family members to make extra. And also use all email providers, Gmail, outlook, AOL, etc. But for itunes or store info I have never been asked to validate that info. I put in random #s

@the_nerd_skull I think my grandparents still pay for AOL. they haven't offered anything resembling ISP service for like 15 years, it's literally just email and the walled garden internet-lite experience they've been offering since the early 90s

@CoPo_Opinion @jeffhunt @jeffhunt, you are YEARS too late to this conversation. But I don't want to be rude, so I guess I'll ask your opinion on disco, legwarmers, the Fresh Prince, and AOL while we're at it.
