@steve_vladeck I'm not sure of the exact date. It was though AOL, probably between 1992 & 1994. I was just a kid, my family got lucky that we had a tech geek friend that handed me down all his old computers. I've got a 10 yr head start on my wife wrt computer literacy, and it shows.

@CryptoWhale @ShankaraJoySam its better to compare TCP/IP - INTERNET vs AOL or intranet. which was opensource vs AOL network (private). its like saying you predict another network will be bigger then internet. dont be stupid.

@KingOfSafari Desperation. Only ever met up with one person way back on AOL's dating app. We went to a movie and didn't talk (because it was a movie) then parted ways. I wasn't that into her but going to a movie was a bad first date idea regardless. Been on every free dating app since. Nada.

@sadistchann Sadly, I’m old enough to remember when the internet became available. I was 12, & I went to a friend’s house to see it. After the slow AOL log in & dial up sounds, I asked, “so what can you do??”
