@RetroCrone I still use AOL! I don't really use email anymore except for online shopping. I never liked Gmail.

@Vanessa_ABee You know how hard it was to quit aol back in the day? Like I'd call and say I do not want this anymore. They'd give you 500 hours. And then you'd try to cancel again they'd say it would end at the end of the free hours but they'd give you another 1000 hours.

Her response to me was that she used different screen names on different social media sites back then (myspace and aol messenger). She never addressed the world star video because ste blocked me after I shared it. Oh, and she almost let her cat die too. Great gal! 2/2

I've been online for a long time, like AOL six months free trial in '96 times, my only goal after so long is to hype people I like, have a few chuckles and try to be a mostly positive chaotic good bard for the world. I'd like to think I give off "good egg" vibes but never know.

  • northwestborn Lee Stoll (@northwestborn) reported

@UberFacts Once you signed up with AOL it was very difficult to get it stopped. I called tech support for their help and the lady admitted they made it hard so people would not even try.

  • mindcrime Phillip Rhodes "mindcrime@fosstodon.org" (@mindcrime) reported

@IntuitMachine Not sure about this. Us old ***** were anonymous AF back in the day as well. IRC never required a real name, nor did, IIRC, AOL Instant Messenger, Yahoo Instant Messenger, MS Messenger, Slashdot, Kuro5hin, etc. etc. Not sure age is really "thing thing" here.

  • TheTruthIsBlue THE.TRUTH.IS.BLUE 🐳 (@TheTruthIsBlue) reported

@AOL Is a anti-American fascist loving media network.
