@Stevephenni @ChrisBloomstran How would it differ from any business strategy, e.g. TimeWarner merging w/ AOL or Verizon buying Yahoo? Bad decisions. But if everyone knows what is happening, isn't it just a business decision like any other subject to some baseline reasonableness/good faith standard?

@NickADobos @eevee I’ve been on the internet since AOL days… you know who solved that problem? PayPal. And now they aren’t the only one offering solutions to creators to get $ for their work. There is dozens upon dozens of companies eager to support creators in their businesses. We have choices.

@noshitshow1 Not currently. Back in the AOL days, I met a few nice guys. One helped me move, one taught me that I wasn’t doing that crap again.

@confusatron @emrazz Seriously tho— Remember AOL chat rooms. Just chattin’ with total randos about whatever & being so stressed when dial-up kicked u out before saying bye & u felt so rude & frantic & sweaty rushing to get back in but by the time u got there everyone was gone & there was no closure

  • JeffAlyanak Jeff Alyanak (@JeffAlyanak) reported

@OriginalKanator @skylashtravels @particlesbbs … was different, so it wasn't able to reliably write DD data on a HD disk. You'd likely just end up with garbage. The trick with 3.5" disks was putting tape over the write-protect notch to allow you to re-use commercial disks—like that AOL disk you got free in the mail! 2/2

@glaksmono No, just think about other systems. Solana is, has, and never will be decentralized. Aol 3.0

  • SheaWhitaker Todd Karate (@SheaWhitaker) reported

Facebook has spent billions and over a decade developing the technology to become AOL. The metaverse is the chat room that makes you dress stupid to join.

  • RDTUniverse RDTUniverse (@RDTUniverse) reported

@andyhmurray The biggest issue for AEW will be if the networks undergo some kind of change. For example, people can say all they want about WCW's failures, but it died because AOL/Time Warner's merger. If Tony Kahn doesn't have to answer to anyone, AEW will live a long time.
