@Phoenix65163935 @nutshell729 Not everyone, no. But on social media sites, 99 out 100 times people aren't fully honest & why should they be, for most people this is just a bit of fun. Have never used any social media for anything serious but then I grew up with AOL. Anything net related is purely for fun

@jollygoodbitch @_benjvmins_ When I think about all the random AOL chat rooms and **** I hung out in when I was like 8 Oof

  • IQ_Adventures Infamous Quests (@IQ_Adventures) reported

10 years ago we were toiling behind the scenes, all of us working remotely, using forums, AOL instant messenger, then MSN and ultimately Skype to talk in real time… I remember writing and drawing terrible sketches artists turned into absolute visions… we worked hard.

@davidfowl @shanselman Most problems come from users with aol email addresses.

  • im_notthe1 F.B.A ALL DAY (@im_notthe1) reported

@CoxHelp this is the worst service I've ever had is this dial up service or AOL from the 90s your service is horrible #coxcommunicationsisterrible

  • bruingeek Long Covid Gladiator (@bruingeek) reported

Mixed-in with my daily deluge of email are multiple app developer folks (mostly non-US) who ask if I need help creating apps & sites. Am I the only one who gets turned off when the email address is ".AOL" and not a personal/business domain name?

  • rgr_park rgrpark (@rgr_park) reported

@blackmambabtc @hufhaus9 Bruh I was in $mcc v1. All the newer #FaaS projects improved upon $mcc. $mcc was first, but is now the worst out of all #faaS. The first isn't necessarily the best or we'd all be using AOL still.

  • NiedsG NiedermeyersDeadHorse aka NDH (@NiedsG) reported

And a paper invoice for my AOL service

  • PiPrimePi Pi Prime Pi (@PiPrimePi) reported

@LegalTinder @albieXBT eBay never flipped Amazon. AOL never flipped Google. ETH won’t flip BTC. Ex. No one knows how many ETH exist, so mkt cap calc is impossible. It’s the most opaque $100B+ asset (besides USD, Euro, Gold, Oil) Seen this game before.

  • robchandhok Rob Chandhok 🇺🇦 (@robchandhok) reported

@benedictevans Recall when AOL and Yahoo thought about integrating their messaging - they couldn't (at the time) afford big enough pipes to handle the bandwidth of just "online status" updates between the two systems. These are large scale issues, as you point out. This isn't just "make it so"
