Can't believe it's been 20 years since Thursdays 'Full Collapse' album. Around that time I remember learning songs on guitar for a NJ band called Pencey Prep via files sent via AOL (I was in talks to be guitarist), they never reformed, members went on to do: My Chemical Romance.

@patriottakes @CancelFascism Agreed it is the absolute worst. No oversight in the actual platform is junk. It’s like an AOL chat room from 92

"Is this the crown of Aol?" "Yes." "I never understood how the king ended up in #exile." "The people realized he liked more being the one giving them freedom than them actually being free, and he realized they didn't appreciate their rights being treated as a concession." #vss365

@Mr_UNSTABLE It sucks too because I like talking to people online I've been doing it since the AOL days but now it's harder to connect with people online. Everyone wants to be fake or there's an agenda.

@SulimanHK And if AOL didn't want to sell it would have remained. You keep coming back to the main thing that it was AOL. WCW was still watched by twice the audience WWE is watched by now. It was still the highest rated program on it's network. It was AOL that killed it. Not WWE

two hours a week and months' worth of purely typing classes. mavis beacon and other typing programs iirc. my scores were garbage until i went into rp chats on aol and speed was basically required

@xeynuraf Thankfully I've never had to camp out. I did have to spend extra for a useless AOL account I didn't need or want in order to get presale tickets for Drowned World Tour...that's the about the extent of it, lol. And then there was that lottery mess with Madame X Tour...

If my phone autocorrects "keyboard" to "keyword" one more ******* time I'm gonna steam roll it and take a **** on the remains. I know my phone is old but I didn't know it was still in the AOL mindset with the goddamn keywords.
