@Texarchivist Yes. It was eventually marketed as a standalone service. Not sure if you had to pay for it. I used a steady stream of free AOL minutes provided on CD-ROMs

can someone definitely tell me when the AOL Messenger era was? because I've never used it, didn't realize it was a thing, etc. I suspect because I was in the UK during its zenith. but I'm ready to hear the truth

@MrSSD_ Yeah mainly xp era games early 2000s, I been messing with computers since I was 14 & able to get in aol dialup lol I actually tore our family apart at 15 to try to leave how to build & back then we didn't have youtube or help
