@pkafka You mean the "well paid" bankers that got a piece of the action and execs getting handsome deal bonuses. Same story, different day. AOL-Time Warner, Verizon buying AOL and Yahoo and also creating a disastrously bad Go90... and coming soon Comcast selling off NBCU and Sky.

@Bellatrysh How about the site fanfiction? It's like AOL but a bit different, I know tumblr also has stories also. I'm sorry I don't know much about genshin!! Sorry I couldn't help!

@KaylaChowShow Driving across the state to multiple record stores looking for import albums. Searching magazines for the best BMG or AOL trial, then forgetting to cancel. Calling Information. Using a road atlas when driving out of state. Long distance charges. Setting the VCR when you're out.

@tracyalloway @WayneVaughan Nah the fact that bitcoin comes back again and again tells you that its not AOL. AOL failed and never came back. It relied on a lot of other internet companies who did one time ad buys. If anything is like AOL, it’s probably Coinbase.

@JeffNewman72 @YahooNews AOL couldn't deal with Time-Warner, either. Maybe, just maybe, it's TW. Or everyone sucks.

I'm listening to some idiot arguing that you can't make Facebook a utility because it replaced MySpace, but the Internet is a public utility. Despite the fact that the Internet replaced Prodigy, Compuserve, AOL, Usenet, etc.

@akstanwyck My two thoughts: 1) SOMEONE made a ton of money. A few people. 2) Wait, didn't this kind of sh*tshow happen to WB with AOL in the 2000s, and didn't the executives give *precisely* the same reasons it was a blockbuster idea that couldn't possibly fail?

@DickWhitmanBTC @tracyalloway Problem is that nobody knows what TCP/IP is or how the internet works. It's not an easy methaphor. AOL/"tHe MySpAcE oF cRyPtO is something everyone understands, because they have experience with companies failing.

Verizon should have never bought Yahoo and AOL, but it's good to see them shed those and refocus. AT&T should have never bought Tim Warner, but it's good to see them soon both that and DTV off. T-Mobilr should have never bought Layer3 TV. Etc.

@ykoi17921727 @BitcoinIsSaving @tracyalloway Pretty sure your metaphor for blockchain is wrong. AOL was a web service built on top of the protocol.
