@bluethebone The lack of social media, but still being able to talk with people around the world in realtime through AOL, and then later AIM, MSN, ICQ, Trillium, and more. Forums where people actually sat an typed out thought-out paragraphs in response to each other instead of kneejerk crap.

@seanorr if you have the hardware, I recommend checking out the PS2 game. Game sucks. BUT. In the same way the flip phones, AOL chat rooms, etc make the show a period piece, the mediocrity of the game highlights the shows dark humor about the decaying American Dream
