@brianne2k ICE BREAKER: Making my first AOL screen name! I think it was gelpen318 or something terrible because I was obsessed with gel pens. #PopChat

@chrishlad This was a fantastic deal for AOL shareholders who got hold of a valuable media company before the dot-com fever tanked which would have seen a huge decline in their share price. It was terrible for Time Warner, led to CNBC naming their CEO the worst American one of all time.

@MattWalshBlog Holy crap I feel old now. I thought we were close to the same age. The first time I saw AOL, I was 17. I clicked on it on my brother's computer and immediately freaked out because it said it was talking to someone. I shut it down fast. "WHO?? HOW MUCH WILL THAT COST??"

@MattWalshBlog We must be the same age. My dad took me down to our basement office, it was dark, screen was lit up and he said, “This is for your generation what landing on the moon was for mine. You can connect to anywhere in the world instantly using this.” Then, he proceeded to log onto AOL.

@MattWalshBlog It was when the movie Titanic came out. I remember trying to check out a page on it and it loaded very slowly. Maybe never loaded with AOL.
