When I did roleplaying games on aol . com ten thousand years ago in the 1997-1999 range, the air tasted better and more real than it ever will again. I have never been in a game since that time that has been as good as the stupid chaos of those white wolf chatrooms

  • JazzTenor1 Jeff Morrison (@JazzTenor1) reported

@RexChapman they’ve been charging premium fares for decades while providing “economy” or discount service, investing nothing back into their operations…I bet the employees aren’t paid well either. When it works, their $8 wifi has lower bandwidth than 1998 AOL dial up.

  • AntifaChristian Tob Nun (@AntifaChristian) reported

@AlexBerenson To me $TSLA is more the AOL of today. Had a massive first mover advantage, then got destroyed by an historically bad acquisition and market forces and withered away. At this point investing in Elon Musk nuking his own customer base has to be more dumb than investing in dial-up.

@LoveRetroBTW I remember my sister pissing me off, and I would go down to the basement and pick up the phone and start mashing numbers until she got kicked off. Back in 98, you got kicked off AOL, it might take 53 minutes to get back on!
