I kind of like how preciously annoying and stupid Musk is. He has old time internet nerd swag. He's just sitting there like "Now we can have epic bacon for dinner!" while the whole AOL chat is telling him to shut ******** up and die, he's lilke "Ermm >_> Awkward...Beer time???"

@thebeach345 I was listening to an NYU professor talking about it being the second worst acquisition in history behind Time Warner and AOL. He bought an $11 billion company for $44 billion. He is going to start charging a $20 subscription fee to verified users and he’s losing advertisers.

@lucperkins @monkchips I didn't mean to imply that Mastodon is like Twitter. I meant to imply that Twitter is like that weird **** AOL mail thing from 1995 where you could only send mail to other AOL users.

@JamesBradleyCA What’s really funny is AOC and everyone that bought a Tesla enabled musk to lose $33B. It’s been called the second worst acquisition in history behind Aol Warner. He bought an $11B company for $44B. It’s funny to watch the Reps meltdown, thinking Dems care who owns Twitter.

@OpenTexans @StephenKing @MobleyGinny Bad business model. You cant charge for whats been free. Its a blue check. AOL gave their platform for free then decided to charge and killed their site. If they start charging the majority of people will leave. Twitter will go to the social media grave yard like MySpace/AOL.

@JSwayArt lol, of course he would, it's not like people are asking for "Twitter Platinum." A service like AOL chat room in the 90s.

@LoveRetroBTW Oh, the days of those who were clueless of the dangers to come. The worldwide wait as we called it was so slow, email good but chat group were full of those hunting many young people left to AOL hell. This reminds me of my work to stop newscaster to stop calling AOL the internet
