    30 year old adult man boomer take here but moving forward this will be more of a problem for people because NOBODY who used to socialize on AOL or mIRC (even Skype, typically) used to meet up in the real world but it's becoming much more frequent to do so (this is good)

    @jasonfried @37signals @AOL This incident taught him the biggest lesson of his life... He'd built Audiofile as he needed it. Eventually, he understood other people would need it, too. But he was okay if no one else ever used it. He figured, if he needed it, certainly someone else will.

    @just_mindy Literally I’ve been called horrible names since AOL chat rooms. Been called a ****** and someone posted my work info online as well. It happens to everyone.

    As soon as your crazy uncle or your drunk dad got his first AOL connection in the mid-90s and became an email enabled node in a nationwide network of nonsense, something like January 6th may have been inevitable. We used to think of misinformation as harmless. Now we know better.
