@SFLApodcast @straczynski Yes, he was on a couple of platforms: GEnie, AOL, CompuServe, & rastb5 (prior to the creation of rastb5.mod). To help prevent exposure to story ideas, he stayed mainly with moderated forums once the show was in full swing.

@elliekaysmith_ @markfollman Yep. I can’t imagine how they feel now. Close to what it felt like to have AOL shut down CNN’s community in the 00s after we worked so damn hard to build a true international online community.

@bluenamicomin That’s terrible. I remember the old AOL dialup from the late 1990s. Definitely time for you to have an upgrade.

@JaneOst_ the last time I ever used AOL messenger I was talking to someone who had a quote in his profile that said “GO BIG”, so I asked him about it and he said his brother always said it so I replied “lol” and he then said “HE’S DEAD” I felt so bad that I never used the app again

@rschmied I’m getting the AOL/Time Warner merger vibe from the Musk and $TWTR affair If you recall, AOL/Time Warner marked the top of the Dotcom bubble I hope the Fed wakes ******** up when they are seeing the fake wealth they've created for gamblers instead of savers & prudent investors

@Kenny_Wallace @jim_utter There was standalone bulletin board systems back in the early 90s that you dialed into with a very slow modem. Also people forget about AOL and Compuserve back then. I believe AOL sponsored race cars at one point. All had social media aspects to them.
