@CubicleApril Tough call between AOL/TW and Musk buying Twitter. Yahoo's worst deals may have been the back-to-back purchases of GeoCities and Broadcast. $9+ billion for services effectively killed off within a few months, but I don't think it's as destructive as Musk's folly

  • LaurenH721 Lauren Hettler (@LaurenH721) reported

@MicrosoftTeams Teams is the worst and too many damn add ons, Skype was better, hell I would take @AOL AIM, miss those days #bringbackAIM

  • markfconway Mark Conway (@markfconway) reported

@VfBAmericana I have the latest AOL cd, if that would help.

  • johnayersc johnayersc (@johnayersc) reported

@TheStalwart As a business guy at AOL this was my view and frustration when presented with long dev lead times, I never understood it until someone wisely told me “nine women can’t have a baby in a month”

  • Dr_Muckerheide Ryan Muckerheide (@Dr_Muckerheide) reported

@CommodoreLad @gpowerf Sure it can. See MySpace, AOL, etc. All it takes is either 1) a newer, better platform, or 2) for Twitter to become more trouble than it's worth. We may (arguably) not have #1, but we're well on our way to #2.

  • DDunkincoffee Danny Dunkin (@DDunkincoffee) reported

@elonmusk Remember Myspace,AOL, and every other defunct platform that was at one point king of the hill and now basically worthless? Well you are now driving down that same road. If this was still a publicly traded company the value would be zero and delisted by now.🗑

I still have my AOL address, I ain't closing down. Will probably tweet less.

  • JDAvatar Jon_Davis (@JDAvatar) reported

@eddytheaxe Oh that'll happen as soon as every remembers the days when they had to deal with bad actors who made chat rooms just pull people in to treat them like garbage. Sadly AOL has been gone far too long for that memory to be with everyone. *And Yahoo as well...

  • pan21897 Blood on his Wally's like ketchup (@pan21897) reported

J*son Wh*tl*ck is down bad man. Just seen a clip and it’s bad. I use to enjoy his columns at Kansas City Star. Followed him to ESPN, AOL, CBS, back to ESPN. Started to sour once he stayed being weird about Serena & his attack of Scoop Jackson was nasty. Scoon peeped game tho.

  • msbellows M.S. Bellows, Jr. (@msbellows) reported

@pastordan @tai_nugget The problem is, AOL was bought by Yahoo. There was no larger purpose, and there were plenty of equally efficient alternatives. That's not the case with twitter, which is why we need to organize to take it over at the fire sale.
