@aolmail I’ve had you since the internet was invented. I know you need advertising as it’s not a service you can deliver for free.... ...but the new level of intrusion, irritation & inconvenience means you will lose users....such as me.

@John_GR63 @BeSk99 @NoContextBrits No I get it, the question just made me feel old. AOL (America Online) was a dial-up internet service provider in the 90s. It was massive. They bought Time Warner in 2001 & slowly died afterward (due to broadband) It still exists today & still provides dial-up to a couple thousand

@wjmaggos @Twitter “The fedi is no more difficult than browsers in the age of AOL or podcasts.” That’s too difficult. You need the network effect to take off and it’s not going to unless it’s an app that takes three minutes and requires minimal on-boarding.

@DiMartinoBooth Remember AOL/Time Warner merger. It was going to be a titan. Media libraries were going to be accessed through AOL. Not a bad concept but over 2 decades early.

@DrShade2 Except Twitter is not a common carrier. The real damage was done in the 1990s by AOL, not #twittergate.

Hey, @AOL, what is it with the cursor bouncing around when you try to type an email response? Highly annoying! Happening to me and my wife. I see it's been a problem for a year and no solution. What hell. If this keeps up, I'm leaving.

HEY @AOL. You have screwed up for many of us big time. The cursor is bouncing around frenetically, and we can't respond to emails. What the heck? Are u making it necessary for us to switch to a different service?
